The UAE continues to prioritize inclusivity by providing benefits and opportunities for people of determination (PoD), ensuring their active participation in society. These benefits include free parking, toll exemptions, healthcare discounts, Fazaa cards, and access to specialized facilities such as sensory spaces, wheelchair ramps, and modified taxis.
For Abu Dhabi citizens, the government has streamlined the process for people of determination to apply for private-sector jobs through Tamm, a unified platform for government services. Below is a step-by-step guide on eligibility, required documents, and the application process.
To apply for a private-sector role, the following documents are needed:
Comprehensive diagnostic report from the Zayed Higher Organisation for People of Determination (with full specifications).
Education certificates as proof of academic qualifications.
People of Determination Card from Zayed Higher Organisation to confirm disability status.
Updated Curriculum Vitae (CV).
Emirates ID.
Visit the Tamm website and navigate to the services section.
Select the "Social Care" category.
Click on 'PoD Support' and choose 'Apply for a Job for People of Determination.'
Log in using UAE Pass credentials.
Specify whether you are applying for yourself or on behalf of someone else.
Complete the application by providing qualifications, experience, and required documents.
Submit the application. You will receive a confirmation text message indicating whether your application has been approved or rejected.
As per the Tamm website, the following criteria must be met:
The applicant must be a citizen of Abu Dhabi.
They must be an Emirati national or hold a UAE passport and family book.
The applicant must be between 18 and 40 years old at the time of registration.
They should not already be employed.
The application is not applicable to people of determination students currently enrolled in morning classes.
Applicants running their own businesses are ineligible for this service.
The UAE’s initiatives aim to empower people of determination by providing accessible infrastructure and creating platforms to utilize their skills and talents effectively. With programs like these, the nation continues to foster an inclusive environment that promotes equal opportunities for all.
