In a decision sensitive to the current pandemic situation and the economic issues associated with the same, Kuwait has banned increase in school fees. According to the decision by Ministry of Education, private and international schools must charge the same fees as were in place before to the emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic, which required the ministry to grant a 25% reduction. This includes Arab and model private schools that follow national curricula. This decision was taken following a field inspection by parliament’s Education Committee which assessed the readiness of schools to restart operations. Ministry of Education had endorsed the decision of allowing schools to restart physical operation from October 3.
