government United Arab Emirates announced modification travel

The government of the United Arab Emirates announced a modification to their travel regulations. People who want to travel to or from UAE with a tourist, visit, or any other type of visa but only have one name on their passport will not be allowed to do so.

Each passenger's first and last name must be written legibly. Beginning on Monday, November 28th, the adjustment will be implemented.

There was a statement issued that read, "According to guidelines from the UAE authorities, individuals with only one name on their passports who are planning to travel to or from UAE on a tourist, visit, or any other type of visa would not be allowed to do so after November 21, 2022."

Trade partner IndiGo released a statement quoting UAE officials saying that travelers having a single name on their passport and a resident permit or permanent visa will be allowed to travel so long as the same name is updated in the "first name" and "surname" columns.

"However, passengers with a single name on their passports and a residence permit or work visa will be allowed to travel as long as the same name is updated in the "First Name" and "Surname" columns," the airline said in a statement. Additionally, passengers were instructed to approach their account manager.
