The Ruler of Dubai has allotted 4000 land plots and has also increased the limit of interest-free housing loans to AED1 million, for eligible recipients. Housing and social infrastructure projects are one of the government's top priorities, according to H.H. Sheikh Mohammed. As part of the first phase of an Emirati housing scheme, 4,000 land plots and residences were allocated to Dubai residents at a cost of AED5.2 billion. Meeting the housing needs of Emiratis over the next 20 years is one of the primary objectives of our sustainable development strategies, says the Crown Prince of Dubai. H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid recently approved the allocation of AED65 billion to a Dubai-based Emirati housing programme. Over the following two decades, the cash will be used to construct quality housing for Emiratis. This extensive housing plan is part of Dubai’s 2040 Urban Master Plan. The ruler has made moves to quadruple the amount of people benefiting out of these housing plans which are aimed at social wellbeing and cohesiveness.
