Fine up to Dh100,000 and two-year jail term will be sentenced if a person refuses to give sample for drug test without validating the reason. The UAE Public Prosecution warns of action against such persons of dire consequences for their action.
In its latest tweet, the Federal Public Prosecution categorically specified that “Whoever against whom a permission is given by the public prosecution to take a test sample contain narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances or not, while such person declines, without justification, to give such sample, shall be sentenced to imprisonment for a duration of not less than 2 years and a penalty of AED 100 Thousand, in accordance with Article 63 of the Federal Decree- Law No. 30 of 2021, for combating narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances.”
