UAE public prosecution warns about penalties for molesting women

The UAE Public Prosecution explained through a post on its social media accounts, the penalties for molesting a female in an indecent way by words or acts on a public road.

According to Article 412 of the Federal Decree-Law No. 31 of 2021, perpetrators shall be sentenced to detention for a term not exceeding one year and/or a fine not exceeding AED 10,000.

The social media post claimed that any male who molests a female in an indecent way by words or acts on a public road or in a frequented place or disguises himself in female apparel and enters places reserved for women or where entry is forbidden will be prosecuted as per law.
