Abu Dhabi Court Dismisses Wife’s Claim to Recover Dhs100,000 from Husband
Court rules claim unsubstantiated due to lack of evidence proving loan or purpose of transfers.

The Abu Dhabi Family, Civil, and Administrative Cases Court has dismissed a lawsuit filed by a woman seeking to recover Dhs100,000 from her husband, which she alleged he borrowed during their marriage and failed to repay.
The woman had requested the court to compel her husband to return the amount, along with 9% legal interest from the date of the lawsuit, Dhs10,000 as compensation for being deprived of her money, and coverage of court fees and expenses.
Upon reviewing the evidence, including the bank statements submitted by the wife showing multiple transactions between the spouses, the court concluded that these transfers reflected routine financial dealings, such as household expenses, rather than a formal loan.
The court noted that the wife failed to provide proof of the loan or clarify the purpose of the transfers. With the claim deemed unsubstantiated, the case was consequently dismissed.
