Abu Dhabi Judicial Department Boosts Legal Sector With Bew Emirati Lawyers
Lawyers Affairs Committee approves registrations, renewals and oversight measures to strengthen professional standards.
The Abu Dhabi Judicial Department (ADJD) has taken new steps to strengthen the legal profession by approving the registration of 16 Emirati lawyers on the practising lawyers’ roster, following their successful completion of specialised training programmes at the Abu Dhabi Judicial Academy.
The decision, approved by the Lawyers Affairs Committee, is aimed at supporting the legal sector with qualified national professionals capable of delivering legal services in line with the highest standards of competence and professionalism.
During its regular meeting, chaired by H.E. Counsellor Yousef Saeed Al Abri, Undersecretary of the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department, the committee also reviewed applications from 11 lawyers seeking to renew their memberships after a lapse of more than two months.
The committee further approved the transfer of one lawyer to the non-practising roster, in accordance with procedures designed to ensure accurate and effective management of professional records.
As part of its oversight role, the committee examined a complaint filed against a lawyer, reviewed the relevant details and took appropriate action, underscoring the judiciary’s commitment to upholding professional conduct and safeguarding the rights of litigants before Abu Dhabi courts.
In addition, four other requests submitted by lawyers on various professional and procedural matters were reviewed and decisions were issued accordingly. These measures reflect ongoing efforts to reinforce professional discipline and enhance the administration of justice across the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
