In a move to improve traffic safety, Abu Dhabi Mobility has announced a reduction in speed limits on two major highways starting April 14, 2025.

Effective from that date, the speed limit on Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed International Road (E11) will be reduced from 160 km/h to 140 km/h. Additionally, the speed limit on Abu Dhabi–Sweihan Road (E20) will drop from 120 km/h to 100 km/h.

New Speed Limits (Effective April 14, 2025):

  • E11 (Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed International Road): 160 → 140 km/h

  • E20 (Abu Dhabi–Sweihan Road): 120 → 100 km/h

These adjustments are part of Abu Dhabi’s ongoing efforts to enhance road safety, minimize traffic incidents, and protect all road users.

Police Urge Drivers to Comply

The Abu Dhabi Police have called on all motorists to respect the new speed limits and exercise caution, especially on high-speed roads. Strict monitoring and enforcement are expected as the new limits come into effect.
