The Al Ain Civil, Commercial and Administrative Cases Court has ordered a company to pay an employee Dh466,465 after finding that it had delayed his salary payments for over two years.

The court also noted that the company failed to pay the worker his end-of-service gratuity and annual leave allowance following the termination of his employment.

The employee filed a lawsuit seeking Dh420,000 in unpaid wages, Dh24,465 as end-of-service gratuity, Dh35,000 for unused annual leave, and Dh15,000 as notice pay compensation.

He stated that he had worked for the company on a basic salary of Dh15,000 per month until his last working day, when the firm refused to pay his dues.

The court confirmed that an employment relationship existed between the parties and that the employee was entitled to payment for 28 months of delayed wages. As he provided no proof that the company had already paid these amounts, the court ruled in his favour, ordering the employer to pay the full amount due.
