What Are Covid-19 Protocols for UAE National Day?

Earlier this month, the National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Management Authority (NCEMA) announced that only people who have been vaccinated will be allowed to attend the UAE's 50th National Day celebrations, which will be held across the country and have an 80 percent capacity.

People of all ages are permitted to attend the event if they received a vaccine more than 14 days ago and received a booster shot, or if their Al Hosn mobile app shows a Green Pass status.

People must also have a negative PCR [Polymerase Chain Reaction] test result within 96 hours of attending an event, and masks must be worn at all times when in an area with other people.

This includes keeping a 1.5-metre physical distance. Members of a family however, are permitted to sit or stand together without maintaining physical distance.
