Workers Can Now File Employment Complaints Through DubaiNow App
Dubai Police-developed feature enables private sector employees to report wage and working condition complaints.
Private sector employees in Dubai can now submit employment-related complaints directly through the DubaiNow app following the launch of 'Worker's Voice', a new digital service developed by Dubai Police and introduced by Digital Dubai.
The new feature provides workers with a fully digital platform to lodge individual or collective complaints against their employers, allowing them to report workplace issues without the need to visit a government service centre.
Announcing the initiative on X, Digital Dubai said the service enables employees to raise concerns relating to unpaid or delayed wages, working conditions, employee accommodation, and occupational health and safety requirements involving the companies or establishments where they work.
The addition of Worker's Voice further expands DubaiNow, the emirate's unified digital platform that offers access to more than 250 government and private-sector services from over 35 entities. The application allows residents to access a wide range of public services, including bill payments, government transactions and now employment-related complaints, through a single mobile platform.
The new service is aimed at making the complaints process quicker, more convenient and more accessible for Dubai's large private-sector workforce, many of whom rely primarily on mobile applications to access government services.
The launch also strengthens Dubai's broader digital strategy for improving access to public services while enhancing worker protection. By providing a direct, documented reporting channel, employees can raise concerns as they arise rather than relying solely on in-person visits or intermediaries to initiate a complaint.
Worker's Voice operates alongside the UAE's existing federal labour dispute mechanism administered by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE). Across the UAE, private sector employees may continue to file complaints relating to unpaid wages, termination, workplace conditions and other employment disputes through MoHRE's website, mobile application or call centre.
Under the UAE's labour dispute framework, MoHRE first seeks to resolve disputes amicably before referring unresolved cases to the competent courts where necessary.
The introduction of a Dubai Police-backed reporting channel through DubaiNow provides workers with an additional and easily accessible avenue to report workplace concerns digitally, complementing the federal labour dispute process while reinforcing the emirate's commitment to digital government services and employee welfare.
