Forging e-Documents in UAE Attracts up to Dh750,000 Fine

The UAE Public Prosecution took to social media and warned about the consequences for fabricating an electronic document.
According to Article 14 of the Federal Decree-Law No. 34 of 2021 on Combating Rumors and Cybercrimes, "Whoever falsifies any of the electronic documents of the Federal or Local Government, or federal or local public authorities or organisations will be sentenced to temporary imprisonment and/or a fine ranging from AED150,000 to AED750,000.
If any document of any entity not listed above is falsified, the penalty is imprisonment and/or a fine ranging from AED100,000 to AED300,000.
The social media post also warned that anyone who knowingly uses the forged electronic document will be sentenced to the penalty for falsification.
