Kuwaiti authorities have detained two men for uploading videos mocking the Kuwaiti Armed Forces, the Ministry of Interior announced on Wednesday. The individuals reportedly attempted to undermine the Air Defence system’s role in national security.

Following interrogation, both confessed to filming and publishing the content. Legal procedures are underway to refer them to the competent authorities. In a related case, another man was arrested for posting abusive content on social media, including images of leaders of designated terrorist organisations, which authorities said could harm international relations.

On March 2, the Ministry monitored and apprehended several individuals involved in serious violations that threaten societal security and stability. Their actions, which included filming incidents and circulating misleading videos, were found to incite unrest, mislead public opinion, and spread fear among citizens and residents.

The Ministry affirmed that such actions undermine the military institution’s prestige. Its Criminal Security Sector continues to monitor social media platforms and workplaces, taking firm action against violations. “The Ministry remains committed to safeguarding national security and will not hesitate to pursue anyone who breaks the law,” it stated.

Bahrain Cases:

Meanwhile, Bahrain authorities detained a suspect for sharing an AI-generated image falsely depicting a residential area under attack. The post, seen by around 15,000 followers, caused widespread panic amid regional tensions. Pretrial detention has been ordered, and investigators are examining the suspect’s mobile and the source of the AI content.

Earlier, Bahrain’s Anti-Cybercrime Directorate arrested a 35-year-old for filming and publishing content alleging Iranian aggression. Legal procedures are ongoing to refer the individual to the Public Prosecution.
