A civil court in Ras Al Khaimah has directed a private school to hand over all academic and identification records for four siblings to their father, after the institution withheld the documents over unpaid tuition fees, Al Khaleej Arabic daily reported.

The dispute arose from the father’s financial difficulties, which prevented him from paying tuition for the 2024–2025 academic year, despite a 12-year history of regular payments. He told the court that the school denied his children admission last year and blocked access to the records required to transfer them to free or low-cost schools, effectively depriving them of an academic year.

The father, with three sons and a daughter, said the school’s actions caused significant psychological and educational harm, threatening both his children’s academic prospects and family stability. With the 2025–2026 school year now underway, he warned that the refusal risked further disruption to their education.

After unsuccessful attempts to resolve the issue directly, he approached the Court of Urgent Matters, which ruled in his favour. The court ordered the school to release all academic and administrative records so the children could be enrolled elsewhere.
