The Sharjah Misdemeanour Court has heard a case filed by an auto spare parts company against one of its employees, accusing him of leaking confidential business information to external parties.

According to the complaint, the employee is alleged to have disclosed work-related secrets and exploited his position for personal gain by sharing company data and information without the permission of the owner. The charges stem from his role, which granted him access to sensitive internal systems and digital platforms.

Prosecutors told the court that the accused unlawfully used internal company data, taking advantage of his authorised access to the company’s social media account to obtain and circulate information. The material was allegedly shared with third parties in a manner that compromised the company’s interests.

The employer argued that the disclosure involved highly sensitive information and resulted in both material and reputational damage, given the potential consequences of such data being made public or misused.

During the hearing, the accused denied all allegations, maintaining that the claims against him were unfounded. His defence counsel sought acquittal, submitting a legal memorandum to support the argument that no offence had been committed.

The court has adjourned the case to a later date to deliver its verdict after reviewing the evidence and examining the submissions presented by both sides.
