A training centre operating illegally in one of the UAE’s emirates has been shut down and fined by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research after inspection teams uncovered a series of serious violations.

The centre was found to be conducting unlicensed educational programmes, admitting students without required approvals, and running an unlicensed nursery. It was also promoting unaccredited courses online, the Ministry said in a statement on Wednesday.

In coordination with the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE), inspectors also discovered additional breaches, including violations of public safety and the employment of unlicensed workers.

Following the findings, the centre was ordered to close and fined for operating without proper authorisation. Its managers were referred to the Public Prosecution on charges related to conducting unlicensed educational activities and advertising unapproved programmes.

The Ministry confirmed that it is working with the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority to block the centre’s online platforms used for promoting its courses.

Reaffirming its commitment to safeguarding students and maintaining educational quality, the Ministry stressed that all higher education and training institutions in the UAE must comply with licensing and accreditation requirements.

It added that regular inspections and proactive oversight mechanisms are in place to detect violators, ensure the quality of academic and vocational programmes, and strengthen public trust in the national education system.

The Ministry urged parents and students to verify the licensing and accreditation status of any educational or training institution through its official website, www.mohesr.gov.ae, or by contacting the Customer Happiness Centre at 800511.
