The Central Bank of the United Arab Emirates (CBUAE), in collaboration with the Dubai Public Prosecution (DPP), has launched the country’s first electronic system designed to streamline the settlement of blood money claims.

The digital platform supports the UAE’s “Zero Bureaucracy” programme by automating procedures and enabling secure electronic integration between the DPP and licensed insurance companies via the CBUAE’s digital infrastructure.

The initiative is expected to improve service quality, enhance customer experience, protect consumers and boost operational efficiency across the insurance sector and law enforcement bodies. It also strengthens coordination between the Central Bank, insurers and the Dubai Public Prosecution to ensure faster and more seamless settlement of claims.

To formalise cooperation, the CBUAE and the DPP signed a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at enhancing collaboration and improving service efficiency. The signing ceremony was attended by Khaled Mohamed Balama, Governor of the CBUAE, and Essam Issa Alhumaidan, Attorney-General of Dubai.

The MoU was signed by Fatma Abdullah Aljabri, Assistant Governor for Financial Crime, Market Conduct and Consumer Protection, and Counsellor Salah Boufrousha Alfalasi, Senior Advocate General and Head of Dubai’s Traffic Prosecution, in the presence of senior officials from both entities.

Aljabri said the new system reflects the Central Bank’s commitment to digital transformation and the development of financial services, while reinforcing consumer protection, regulatory oversight of insurance companies and confidence in the financial system.

Alfalasi described the project as a strong model of cooperation between financial and judicial authorities, noting that it establishes a solid foundation for faster procedures and more efficient blood money settlements through advanced digital solutions.
