In celebration of Eid Al Fitr 2025, the UAE Central Bank (CBUAE) has launched a redesigned Dh100 polymer banknote featuring cultural landmarks and a push toward sustainability and smart financial systems. The note entered circulation on March 24 and is part of the latest news from the Central Bank.

The banknote highlights the Umm Al Quwain National Fort and the Port of Fujairah, as well as Etihad Rail. The initiative reflects the nation’s commitment to Net Zero goals, innovation, and financial competitiveness.

Crafted from polymer, the note is more durable and environmentally friendly. It also includes advanced anti-counterfeit features.

To support financial inclusivity, the banknote features Braille symbols for visually impaired users.

Crafted from polymer, the new currency is more durable, environmentally friendly, and cost-efficient than traditional paper notes. It also includes advanced anti-counterfeit features, contributing to a secure and cashless-ready economy.

In a move toward financial inclusivity, the banknote features Braille symbols for the visually impaired, ensuring accessibility across all communities.

All banks and exchange houses have been advised to recalibrate their ATM and cash machines to support the new note, which will circulate alongside the current Dh100 denominations.

This follows CBUAE’s recent recognition at the 2023 and 2025 High-Security Printing EMEA conference, where it was awarded for its Dh500 and Dh1,000 polymer banknotes.

This latest news strengthens the UAE’s position as a regional leader in fintech innovation, sustainable banking, and inclusive design — all while marking a moment of national pride ahead of Eid Al Fitr.
