Violating Public transportation rules will lead you to be fined from Dh 100 to Dh 500. Chewing gum, smoking, or not presenting your bus card or ticket can result in a fine. 

Abu Dhabi’s transport authority – Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) raised awareness about the rules and etiquette of commuters. Furthermore, they took this information to their official social media channels to explain the penalties for some of the most frequent violations observed in Abu Dhabi buses.

● Sharp objects: Dh100
● Uncivilized behaviour or causing inconvenience: Dh500
● Bus fare not paid: Dh200
● Selling the Hafilat card for Dh500
● Using Special seats for People of Determination or in designated areas: Dh100
● Whether you eat, chew gum, or drink: Dh200
● Smokers smoking: Dh200
● The cost of taking a bicycle on a bus without a bike space: Dh200
