ADID Expands AI Integration to Automate Key Judicial procedures, Notary Services
New systems streamline prosecutions, enforcement and travel ban procedures as ADJD advances digital justice transformation.
The Abu Dhabi Judicial Department has reviewed a series of future-focused artificial intelligence initiatives aimed at streamlining judicial procedures and enhancing public services across the emirate, including within notary and enforcement systems.
The plans were discussed during a meeting of the Committee for the Use of Artificial Intelligence in Judicial and Notary Services, chaired by H.E. Counsellor Yousef Saeed Al Abri, Undersecretary of ADJD. The committee examined pathways to deepen integration between judicial operations and advanced digital systems, in coordination with the Department of Government Enablement, as part of Abu Dhabi’s broader push to expand AI adoption in public services.
The initiative aligns with the vision of UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to build an innovative and technology-driven governance framework, as well as directives from His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan to accelerate the adoption of smart solutions that improve efficiency and support swift delivery of justice.
According to ADJD, several judicial and notary services have already been fully automated, operating without human intervention. These include processing requests submitted to the Public Prosecution and criminal courts, as well as issuing immediate administrative orders such as lifting search notices, cancelling travel bans, and revoking arrest warrants upon payment of fines.
The department also highlighted the use of smart systems in handling enforcement procedures, including automatic processing of court and execution requests, lifting restrictions once payments are completed, and managing tenancy-related enforcement file openings. The systems further enable the automated disbursement of funds to applicants, significantly reducing processing time and improving service efficiency.
The committee also reviewed governance measures to ensure the responsible use of AI in line with UAE legislative frameworks, alongside training programmes designed to equip judicial and administrative staff with the skills required to operate emerging technologies while maintaining high professional standards.
At the conclusion of the meeting, members approved a set of recommendations aimed at strengthening innovation and expanding AI-driven solutions tailored to the evolving needs of the judicial ecosystem, reinforcing ADJD’s long-term digital transformation strategy.
