The Abu Dhabi Judicial Department (ADJD) has introduced a new service allowing clients to consult lawyers through authorised video call applications, eliminating the need for either party to travel for a face-to-face meeting.

The service is designed to make legal consultations more accessible and convenient while supporting Abu Dhabi’s efforts to develop a more advanced digital justice system.

Under the new service, clients can submit and track their requests digitally without attending in person. They can also choose from multiple channels to request a video consultation with a lawyer.

These include the ADJD smart application, ADJD law offices, the department’s website and authorised typing centres.

The service also provides clients with fast and scheduled appointments, while creating what the department described as a secure environment for communication between lawyers and their clients.

The ADJD has assured lawyers that consultations conducted through the service will be subject to “the highest standards of privacy and security”.

The department said the initiative was introduced to meet the needs of clients through multiple service channels and to reduce the need for physical attendance.

The move forms part of Abu Dhabi’s wider adoption of digital technologies to improve the speed and efficiency of judicial services and enhance the emirate’s justice system.

The ADJD has also announced plans for an AI Judicial Platform project, described as the world’s first integrated system of its kind. The project is scheduled to be implemented over 18 months beginning in September 2026.

According to the department, the AI platform will offer advanced capabilities through an integrated suite of smart solutions designed to modernise judicial operations and streamline procedures.

The latest video consultation service adds another layer to the ADJD’s digital transformation, enabling lawyers and clients to communicate remotely while reducing administrative and logistical barriers to accessing legal services.
