Abu Dhabi Supermarket Shut Down Over Food Safety Violations
ADAFSA Takes Action Against Health Risks in Musaffah Store

The Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority (ADAFSA) has ordered the administrative closure of Mohammed Akter Supermarket in the Musaffah Industrial Area due to serious food safety violations.
Authorities found the store in breach of Law No. (2) of 2008, citing multiple high-risk infractions, including the presence of insects and improper food labeling. Despite previous warnings, the supermarket failed to implement corrective measures, leading to its closure.
ADAFSA confirmed that the supermarket will remain shut until it meets all required food safety standards and ensures compliance with regulations. The public is encouraged to report food safety concerns via Abu Dhabi Government’s toll-free number, 800555, as part of the ongoing efforts to uphold food safety and protect public health.
