Actress Karisma Kapoor’s Children Sue Stepmother Priya Over Multi-billon Estate Dispute Over Sunjay Kapur’s Will
Legal heirs challenge sudden appearance of will, and demand partition of estate, full disclosure of assets, and scrutiny of RK Family Trust.

The legal battle over the estate of late industrialist Sunjay Kapur has taken a fresh turn, with actress Karisma Kapoor’s children approaching the Delhi High Court to claim their rightful share in their father’s wealth.
The suit raises serious questions about the conduct of Priya Sachdeva, Sunjay Kapur’s widow, who currently controls significant aspects of the estate. The children, identified as the legal heirs, have sought partition of the estate, rendition of accounts, and a permanent injunction. They allege that after their father’s death, Priya Sachdeva refused to share documents or details regarding his assets and even attempted to dispose of them to their detriment.
The petition specifically demands that Priya Sachdeva disclose on oath the status of Sunjay Kapur’s estate as of the date of his death, along with subsequent actions taken regarding his assets.
The Will Controversy
A central allegation in the suit concerns the sudden emergence of a so-called last will of Sunjay Kapur, dated March 21, 2025. According to the children, Priya Sachdeva repeatedly insisted no will existed.
It was only after more than seven weeks following their father’s death that a meeting was convened, where the executor briefly displayed a document without providing a copy or sharing its full contents.
The suit argues that the suspicious timing and circumstances of this will raise serious doubts. It notes that two individuals closely associated with Priya Sachdeva were responsible for presenting the document, deepening the suspicion around its authenticity.
Lack of Transparency
At the time of their father’s death, the children claim they were informed that the RK Family Trust held all his assets. They were told that documents related to the Trust would need to be signed at its Annual General Meeting scheduled for July 25, 2025. However, shortly before the meeting, they were informed their presence was no longer required, without explanation.
Neither the children nor their mother were ever provided with the family trust deed or comprehensive details about the trust’s assets, which they say underscores the lack of transparency.
Suspicion over Priya’s Conduct
The suit accuses Priya Sachdeva of questionable conduct. The fact that the alleged will appeared after repeated denials of its existence raises the possibility that it was manufactured or surfaced under dubious circumstances.
The plaintiffs argue that it is “unnatural and abnormal” for a will to be withheld for weeks and then revealed in such a selective and incomplete manner. They claim this sequence of events is riddled with contradictions.
The children are demanding a fair share of their father’s personal assets and effects, asserting that as legal heirs they are entitled to transparency and an equitable partition of the estate.
The Delhi High Court will now examine the legitimacy of the contested will, the status of the RK Family Trust, and whether Priya Sachdeva’s actions prejudiced the rightful claims of the children.
