ADJD Expands AI Initiatives to Modernise Courts and Judicial Services
New AI-powered drive will support courts, notary services, prosecutions and complaint handling.
The Abu Dhabi Judicial Department (ADJD) is accelerating the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) across its judicial services, unveiling a series of innovative projects designed to improve court operations, streamline legal processes and enhance the delivery of justice through advanced digital technologies.
The initiatives were reviewed during a meeting of the Artificial Intelligence in Judicial and Notary Services Committee, chaired by H.E. Counsellor Yousef Saeed Al Abri, Undersecretary of the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department. The committee examined a range of technology-driven projects aimed at boosting judicial performance, improving service efficiency and advancing the Department's wider digital transformation strategy.
Al Abri said the Department remains committed to adopting cutting-edge technologies in line with the vision of H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President of the UAE, Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the Presidential Court and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department. He said the continued deployment of AI and advanced digital solutions would strengthen Abu Dhabi's judicial system, deliver faster and more efficient services, and reinforce the Emirate's position as a global leader in judicial excellence.
Among the projects reviewed were the latest AI enhancements to the Department's communication systems and mobile application, together with the rollout of a smart assistant designed to help notaries complete transactions more efficiently.
The committee also discussed the development of the Legal Judgments Assistant, an AI-powered initiative intended to support judicial processes, as well as upgrades to the Public Prosecution system. Plans to introduce advanced digital dashboards and interactive court reports were also reviewed to provide decision-makers with real-time performance data and more accurate operational insights.
Another key area of focus was the use of AI to analyse and automatically route complaints, enabling faster processing, greater accuracy and improved operational efficiency. Members also explored smart technologies to modernise the judicial auctions system, with the aim of ensuring business continuity while maintaining high standards of reliability and operational effectiveness.
The meeting further underlined the Department's emphasis on information security and cybersecurity. Committee members reviewed coordination mechanisms with relevant authorities to strengthen digital safeguards and ensure robust protection across all judicial and digital services as the Department continues to expand its AI capabilities.
