The Al Ain Civil, Commercial and Administrative Cases Court has ordered a typing centre to pay a woman Dh12,200 after it delayed processing her residency visa renewal, causing her to incur significant overstay fines.

Court records show that the woman filed a lawsuit against the typing centre, seeking a refund of the amount she had paid for her residency renewal, along with Dh10,000 in compensation for the material and moral damages she suffered.

The plaintiff said she had been living in the UAE and approached the typing centre to begin the renewal process as her residency visa was close to expiring. She paid the required fee and entrusted the centre with completing the procedures.

However, the typing centre failed to carry out its obligations on time, resulting in the accumulation of fines amounting to Dh15,700.

Arguing that the delay caused her financial loss and personal hardship, she sought compensation and requested that the typing office bear the legal costs.

The court ruled in her favour, ordering the typing centre to pay Dh12,200, covering the refund and compensation for the damages caused by the delay.
