DMCC and  DIFC Courts have expanded their long-standing strategic partnership, enabling DMCC’s community of nearly 27,000 companies to access the full range of DIFC Courts’ commercial and personal legal services.

The enhanced Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) builds on a decade-long collaboration between two of Dubai’s globally connected institutions, extending DIFC Courts’ legal infrastructure directly to DMCC’s international business community across trade, commodities, finance and technology sectors.

Under the expanded agreement, DMCC member companies can incorporate DIFC Courts jurisdiction clauses into commercial contracts with counterparties worldwide, allowing access to English common law dispute resolution, internationally recognised judges and enforceable judgments for trade, investment and shareholder agreements.

The partnership also provides access to the DIFC Courts Mediation Service Centre, launched in 2025, offering businesses a quicker and more cost-effective alternative to litigation. Mediated settlements approved by the DIFC Courts carry the same legal standing as court judgments, providing a formal pathway for resolving supplier disputes, partnership conflicts and commercial claims.

Beyond commercial dispute resolution, the collaboration also covers personal planning, asset protection and digital economy services. The DIFC Courts Wills Service allows non-Muslim residents and business owners to register Wills safeguarding personal assets, business interests and dependants in the UAE — particularly relevant for DMCC’s international community representing more than 180 nationalities.

As part of the partnership, the DIFC Courts and DMCC will jointly organise workshops, webinars and awareness campaigns focused on legal, estate planning and digital asset services, while integrating DIFC Courts service guidance into the DMCC member portal.

Justice Omar Al Mheiri, Director at the DIFC Courts, said the partnership reflects a shared commitment to strengthening legal certainty and commercial growth. “Any DMCC member can write DIFC Courts into their next contract, with any partner, in any country, and access English common law dispute resolution at a world-class standard,” he said.

Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of DMCC, said the expanded partnership reinforces Dubai’s standing as a globally competitive and business-friendly jurisdiction. He noted that access to sophisticated legal infrastructure is increasingly vital as global trade becomes more interconnected.

The collaboration also extends to emerging technologies and digital assets. Following the launch of the Digital Assets Wills Service in 2025, DMCC members holding cryptocurrency, digital tokens and blockchain-based assets can access specialised legal protection. Disputes involving AI-generated contracts, blockchain evidence, digital asset insolvency and other technology-driven matters can also be handled through the DIFC Courts Digital Economy Court.
