Dubai Police Nab Motorcyclist Performing Dangerous Stunts Without Number Plate
Patrols trailed the rider for nearly an hour before arresting him; bike found with expired registration and multiple violations.

Dubai Police have arrested a young motorcyclist for performing dangerous stunts without a number plate in Al Khawaneej, putting his life and the lives of others at risk. The incident took place on Sunday, August 17.
According to Brigadier Juma Salem bin Suwaidan, Director of the General Department of Traffic, the man was spotted riding on one wheel along the Quranic Park walkway. Traffic patrols followed him cautiously for nearly an hour before managing to stop him inside a garage complex.
Subsequent checks revealed that the motorcycle had an expired registration and was wanted for several accumulated traffic violations. The rider was taken to the competent police station for legal proceedings, and an official report was filed.
Authorities said the arrest aligns with ongoing efforts to enhance road safety and curb reckless driving.
In Dubai, traffic penalties for motorcycles are stringent. They include:
-
Driving without number plates: Dh3,000 fine, 23 black points, and up to 90 days of vehicle impoundment.
-
Reckless driving or endangering others: Dh2,000 fine, 23 black points, and impoundment.
-
Riding without a helmet: Dh500 fine and 4 black points.
-
Exceeding the speed limit by 60 kmph: Dh2,000 fine, 12 black points, and 30-day impoundment.
-
Driving below minimum speed limits: Dh400 fine and 4 black points.
Brigadier bin Suwaidan reiterated that riding motorcycles or driving vehicles without a licence, or engaging in stunts, carries strict legal consequences, including arrest and judicial referral. He also urged parents to monitor their children and prevent them from participating in such dangerous activities, warning that guardians could also be held legally responsible.
He added that Dubai Police will not tolerate violations that endanger public safety and called on community members to report reckless behaviour via the “Police Eye” service on the Dubai Police Smart App or through the “We Are All Police” hotline at 901.
