Sheikh Mohammed Issues Comprehensive Law to Strengthen Public Safety Across Dubai’s Venues, Events, and Public Spaces
New regulations cover buildings, pools, beaches and gatherings, aiming to protect lives, reduce accidents, and align the emirate with global safety standards.
Dubai has unveiled a comprehensive law to enhance safety across the emirate, spanning public spaces, events, products, and everyday activities.
Issued by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, Law No. (2) of 2026 on public safety establishes a clear framework to protect lives, reduce accidents, and support sustainable growth. The law takes effect on June 1, 2026, and will be published in the Official Gazette.
The legislation aims to align Dubai with international safety standards, lower injuries and fatalities, and ensure all services and products meet strict safety requirements. It focuses on public venues and events, requiring organisers to follow detailed safety protocols covering equipment, lighting, ventilation, entry and exit points, crowd limits, and noise control.
By strengthening safety across the emirate, Dubai seeks to protect residents, visitors, and businesses while promoting awareness and encouraging compliance with safety measures.
