Five Jailed for Life, to be Deported after Running Organised Drug Network
Court orders confiscation of narcotics, vehicles, and equipment as ringleader and accomplices convicted under Federal Law No. 30 of 2021.

An Abu Dhabi court has sentenced five men of Asian and Arab nationalities to prison and ordered their deportation after convicting them of operating an organised drug trafficking network across the UAE.
According to case records from the Abu Dhabi First Instance Court, the gang distributed narcotics at various locations across the country. The defendants photographed the hiding spots and shared the GPS coordinates with an accomplice abroad, who then used social media to direct drug users to the drop-off points in exchange for payments.
Investigations revealed that the operation was led by an Arab national in coordination with an Asian suspect based outside the UAE. Drug consignments were delivered through unidentified intermediaries before being divided and concealed at multiple sites in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
Police arrested two defendants inside the ringleader’s apartment, where they were found in a suspicious state along with packets of suspected crystal meth and hashish. Both later confessed to drug use. A fourth suspect was apprehended in Abu Dhabi with over 1.5kg of crystal meth and cash, while the fifth was caught in Dubai in possession of hashish, crystal meth, cash, and packing materials.
Forensic analysis confirmed the seized substances included methamphetamine, tetrahydrocannabinol, and cannabis, all banned under Federal Law No. 30 of 2021 on narcotics and psychotropic substances.
Court Ruling
-
The ringleader was sentenced to life imprisonment plus three months for separate consumption charges, followed by deportation.
-
The two men arrested in his apartment each received two years in prison for drug use, along with deportation.
-
The fourth and fifth defendants, both Asian nationals, were also given life sentences and will be deported after serving their terms.
The court additionally ordered the confiscation of all seized narcotics, two vehicles used in trafficking operations, mobile phones, an electronic scale, and packing equipment.
