Former Secretary of State and 2016 Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton is set to testify behind closed doors on Thursday before a congressional committee investigating the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. It remains unclear how much new information her testimony will provide.

Clinton has said she has limited knowledge to offer and has criticised the Republican-led panel for allegedly trying to shift focus from President Donald Trump’s past connections to Epstein, who died by suicide in 2019 while awaiting trial on federal sex-trafficking charges.

Hillary and former President Bill Clinton initially refused to cooperate with the House Oversight Committee but agreed to testify after lawmakers moved to hold them in contempt.

While Hillary’s direct ties to Epstein are unclear, Bill Clinton flew on Epstein’s plane multiple times in the early 2000s and has expressed regret for the association. Comer noted that Epstein visited the White House 17 times during Clinton’s presidency.

Trump also socialised with Epstein before his 2008 conviction, though Comer said the panel’s evidence does not implicate him. The Justice Department has released over 3 million pages of Epstein-related documents, revealing connections to business and political figures including Howard Lutnick and Elon Musk, and overseas investigations into Britain’s Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and others.
