The Al Ain Court of Civil, Commercial, and Administrative Claims has ordered a man to pay Dh12,000 in compensation after deceiving another individual with false promises of employment and taking Dh10,000 under the guise of securing him a job.

Court documents show that the plaintiff filed a lawsuit seeking the return of Dh10,000 paid to the defendant, along with an additional Dh10,000 as compensation for financial and emotional suffering. The plaintiff said the man claimed to have connections with recruitment firms and companies and requested the money to arrange a job. However, once the payment was made, the defendant neither delivered the promised employment nor returned the funds.

During the proceedings, the plaintiff presented a witness who testified under oath that the defendant had indeed collected Dh10,000 for employment purposes but later ignored all attempts at contact.

The court summoned the defendant to take an oath denying the accusation, but his failure to appear was deemed a refusal to swear, effectively confirming the plaintiff’s claim.

In its verdict, the court found the defendant guilty of breaching the agreement and engaging in deceitful conduct that caused both financial and emotional harm. It ordered him to pay Dh12,000 to the plaintiff, covering compensation and legal costs, while dismissing other claims.
