The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) Qatar has recorded three violations at a central market involving pricing non-compliance, commercial fraud and misleading practices.

In a statement on social media, the Ministry said enforcement action was taken against Al Sailiya Central Market for Vegetables and Fruits after inspections revealed two cases of failure to adhere to displayed prices and one case involving commercial fraud and deliberate consumer deception.

The measures were carried out under Law No. (8) of 2008 on Consumer Protection and its Executive Regulations.

The Ministry said legal proceedings have been initiated and the cases referred to the relevant authorities in line with applicable procedures.

It also reiterated its commitment to strengthening inspection campaigns to curb violations, protect consumer rights and ensure transparency in market transactions.

The public has been encouraged to report violations and submit inquiries through the hotline 16001.
