
Saudi Arabia Detains 138 Officials in Nationwide Anti-Corruption Crackdown
Nazaha says arrests followed 1,851 inspection tours in August, with suspects facing charges of bribery and abuse of office across key government sectors.

Saudi Arabia’s Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority (Nazaha) has detained 138 government employees on charges including bribery and abuse of office. Some of the suspects have since been released on bail, the authority confirmed in a statement on Monday.
The arrests followed 1,851 inspection tours carried out by Nazaha officials in August, which also led to investigations against 416 individuals.
According to the authority, the detained and investigated employees were from several key ministries and agencies, including the Ministries of Interior, National Guard, Defense, Municipalities and Housing, Education, Health, Human Resources and Social Development, and Industry and Mineral Resources, as well as the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority.
