Courts across Saudi Arabia handled more than one million cases in 2025, according to official figures released by the Ministry of Justice, underscoring the scale and pace of judicial activity in the Kingdom.

Of the total caseload, around 938,500 cases were resolved, while more than 917,000 judgments were issued, reflecting a high rate of case disposal during the year.

The cases spanned multiple categories, including over 151,000 personal status disputes, about 54,000 injunction cases, and 77,000 commercial matters. Enforcement cases accounted for 27,400 filings, while criminal cases reached approximately 150,000. General cases formed the largest share at 391,200, alongside 157,000 labour-related disputes.

Regionally, the Riyadh area recorded the highest number of filings, with courts receiving around 279,000 cases. The Makkah region followed with 210,200 cases. In contrast, Al-Baha reported the lowest volume, with 6,183 cases registered during the year.

The figures highlight both the diversity of legal matters before Saudi courts and the judiciary’s capacity to process a substantial volume of cases within a single year.
