Sharjah Declares January New Year Holiday Government Employees

Sharjah Declares January 1 as New Year Holiday for Government Employees

The Sharjah Human Resources Department has announced that Wednesday, January 1, 2025, will be a public holiday for government employees in the emirate to mark the New Year.

All government departments, agencies, and institutions will observe the holiday, with normal working hours resuming on Thursday, January 2, 2025, except for employees on shift schedules.

Earlier, the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation confirmed that January 1, 2025, would also be a public holiday for both public and private sector employees across the UAE.

This announcement aligns with the UAE's official list of public holidays for 2025, released earlier this year. UAE residents can look forward to up to 13 days of public holidays in the coming year.

Additionally, the UAE Cabinet noted that the dates for the Eid Al Fitr holiday in 2025 will differ slightly compared to previous years, offering residents even more opportunities to plan their time off.
