Sharjah Police Extradite Interpol-listed Fraud Suspects to Nepal, Uzbekistan
UAE applies strict extradition laws under international cooperation framework to ensure wanted criminals face justice abroad.

Sharjah Police announced that it had arrested and extradited two fraud suspects to Nepalese and Uzbek authorities. The move followed red notices issued by Interpol and was carried out in coordination with the Ministry of Interior.
One suspect was wanted by Uzbekistan for fraud-related offences, while the other was sought by Nepal for similar crimes. Both were arrested in line with UAE legal procedures, and their extradition was approved by the Minister of Justice.
Authorities confirmed that the handover complied with established judicial frameworks and demonstrated the UAE’s commitment to combating financial crimes and strengthening global law enforcement cooperation.
Under UAE Federal Law No. 39 of 2006 on International Judicial Cooperation in Criminal Matters, extradition requests are processed if the crime is punishable in both countries and not related to political or military offences. The law ensures that suspects are afforded due process before being transferred to requesting states.
This latest handover highlights the UAE’s growing role in supporting international policing efforts. Just days earlier, the country extradited a man wanted in France for fraud, money laundering and running a criminal gang. In August, two fugitives with red notices were extradited to France and Belgium.
Similarly, Dubai Police arrested a high-profile Chinese suspect considered among the most wanted by Beijing authorities, who was later extradited for operating a major criminal syndicate. In July, Sharjah Police dismantled a cross-border narcotics ring, arresting a trafficker who used his family as cover for smuggling drugs from Canada and Spain.
By repeatedly assisting in high-profile extraditions, the UAE has reinforced its stance that fugitives cannot use its territory as a safe haven.
