A social media post by the Dubai Police recently revealed that the department had conducted 7,388 land rescue missions in the year 2020.
The Director of Search and Rescue Department at Dubai Police, Lieutenant Colonel Khalid Ibrahim mentioned that policemen responded to 76 fire incidents and secured 215 rescue incidents in Dubai last year.
The emergency rescue incidents included 12 fall accidents, opening 179 jammed car doors, unlocking 330 house doors, 49 elevator incidents and 26 vehicle incidents among others.
Other incidents include minor, moderate and severe injuries and salvaging cars stuck in sand.
Head of the Land Rescue Department, Lieutenant Colonel Abdullah Bishoh reminded the public that they can avail help from the Dubai Police by dialling 999 or by sending distress requests through the Dubai Police’s Smart App.
