Abu Dhabi Police has issued an important reminder to all drivers involved in minor traffic accidents. The police urge drivers to move their vehicles off the road and to a safe location immediately after an accident to avoid a Dh1,000 fine and six traffic points. The warning comes as part of the enforcement of traffic laws aimed at maintaining road safety and reducing congestion in the emirate.

Key Details:

  • Fine for Stopping on the Road: Drivers who fail to move their vehicles after a minor accident may face a Dh1,000 fine and six traffic points, as it is considered obstructing the road.

  • Use of Saed App: To make reporting accidents easier, Abu Dhabi Police advises drivers to use the Saed app to report any minor accidents. The app streamlines the process and helps avoid delays on the road.

How to Report a Minor Accident Using the Saed App:

  1. Download the Saed App: The first step is to download the app from the relevant app store.

  2. Select 'Report an Accident': After opening the app, select the option to report an accident.

  3. Enter Your Details: Provide your mobile number for contact.

  4. Automatic Location Pinning: The app will automatically pin the accident location using your GPS.

  5. Provide Accident Details: Choose the type of accident and provide all relevant details.

  6. Submit Vehicle Information: Upload a copy of your vehicle registration and driver's licence.

  7. Photos of the Accident: Attach photos of your vehicle, including any damaged parts, as well as photos of the other vehicle involved in the incident.

  8. Submit the Report: Follow the remaining instructions and submit the report through the app.

  9. Receive the Report: The accident report will be sent to you via WhatsApp.

Why Moving Vehicles Matters:

  • Safety: Moving vehicles off the road ensures that traffic can flow smoothly, reducing the risk of secondary accidents.

  • Traffic Law Compliance: According to Abu Dhabi's traffic laws, failing to move vehicles after a minor accident can lead to significant penalties, including fines and traffic points.

  • Streamlined Reporting: By using the Saed app, drivers can easily report the accident without needing to wait for police intervention, saving valuable time and ensuring that the process is handled swiftly.

UAE Traffic Laws and Fines

The Abu Dhabi Police's call to move vehicles after accidents is a part of broader efforts to enforce traffic laws and ensure smooth flow of traffic. With more drivers on the road, it’s critical to follow traffic rules to avoid fines and maintain road safety. For drivers who don’t comply, fines such as the Dh1,000 fine for obstructing traffic can be levied, along with the addition of six traffic points to the driver’s record.

As traffic issues and accidents become more frequent, it's essential for drivers to stay informed about the latest traffic regulations and report incidents efficiently.
