His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai has issued a decree to establish the Dubai Resilience Centre, an initiative aimed at strengthening the city’s ability to respond swiftly and effectively to crises and emergencies.

Operating under the Dubai Supreme Committee of Crisis and Disaster Management, the Centre is a cornerstone of Dubai’s strategy to position itself as the most resilient city globally in managing risks and unforeseen events.

Responsibilities of the Dubai Resilience Centre

The Centre has been tasked with several key responsibilities to support Dubai’s crisis management objectives:

  • Coordinating and directing efforts to address crises and emergencies with optimal efficiency.

  • Developing a resilience plan and policies aligned with the Supreme Committee’s objectives.

  • Measuring performance and progress indicators to ensure effective implementation of resilience strategies.

  • Managing the central operations platform and maintaining digital connectivity with stakeholders across the emirate.

Mandate for Public and Private Cooperation

The decree requires all government and private sector entities in Dubai to cooperate fully with the Centre to ensure seamless coordination in crisis management. This collaboration will be critical in achieving Dubai’s vision of becoming a global benchmark for resilience and adaptability in the face of challenges.
