Social Distancing in Mosques and Venue Limits to be Relaxed in UAE

The UAE’s National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Emergency Management Authority (NCEMA) announced in a briefing that COVID-19-related limits will be gradually lifted.

The NCEMA stated that the limits on attendance capacity at all activities and events in all economic and tourist facilities, shopping malls, and transportation modes will be gradually lifted by mid-February, allowing all facilities to function at full capacity.

The social distance between worshippers at mosques has been cut to one metre as part of the move to loosen restrictions.

It was also decided to increase the maximum capacity of social events, such as weddings and funerals, and local authorities will select the number of people who can attend.

According to NCEMA, the relaxing of limitations is due to a decrease in the number of daily recorded infections, indicating a clear improvement in the country's epidemiological situation.

On AlHosn app however, the public has been advised to use the green pass system.
